Indication :
1.Lesions produced by E.histolytica
*Acute & chronic amoebic dysentery
  *Amoebic liver abscess
2.Trichomoniasis/ Vaginitis (causes by Trichomonas vaginalis )
3.Giardiasis /Diarrhoea (caused by G.Lamblia)
4.Pseudomembraneous colitis (caused by C.difficile)
5.Triple /Quadruple therapy of pylori induced PUD
6.Lower Abd surgery incase of female

Adverse effects of Metronidazole 
1.Metalic taste
2.GIT upset  :
*nausea
*vomiting
*Diarrhoea
3.CNS intoxication  
 Headache
 Dizziness
 Vertigo
 Paraesthesia
 Ataxia
4.Neutropenia 
5.Disulfiram like effect with alcohol 

Dose :
Oral 400,500 mg 
Intervenous 400mg 
3times in a day
