Management of PID:
C/F:
Symptoms :
1.Bilateral lower abd pain
2.Irregular & excessive vaginal bleeding
3.Offensive vaginal discharge
4.Fever with headache
5.Dyspareunia
Signs:
G/E:
1.anaemia
2.rasied temperature and tachycardiatachycardia
P/A/E:
1.Distension
2.Tenderness
3.Muscle guard
4.rebound tenderness present
P/V/E:
1.vaginal discharge
2.Congested cervix with purulent discharge from the canal
3.Bilateral tenderness in the fornix
Investigation :
Vaginal swabfor gram staining and C/s
2.Urine R/M/E
3.Urine for Pg test
4.Usg of the Uterus and adnexae
5.Blood for TC,DC,ESR with Hb%
Treatment :
A.Outpatient Therapy :
1.Adequate rest
2.Analgsics
3.Antibiotic any one
*Amoxicillin+1g probenecid+metronidazole
B.Hospital Therapy :
1.Bed rest
2.iv infusion
3.peracetamol antibiotic
4.analgesics
C.Surgery if needed:
1.Conservative surgary by Laparotomy or Laparoscopy
♠Fimbeiolysis
♠Adhesiolysis
*Salpingolysis
*Tubal anastomosis
*Salpongectomy
2.Radical Surgery:
Hysterotomy with or without salpingo oophorectomy.
